The Fishing Rod is a tool that allows players to obtain resources from the sea, primarily Guppies and Bugsharks.

A fishing rod can be made by crafting a string and a handle.
How to Fish[]
When you are near to the sea, click the water (but not too far) and a red ball will appear underwater where you clicked. When the red ball disappears, quickly click again and you will most likely get a fish. There is a chance that you can get an orange, split wood and a raw human meat from fishing.
Note: In the current version of Expedition, fishing is bugged, forcing you to go underwater to cast.
